The article describes the modern requirements to the teachers of foreign languages.Modern requirements for teachers of foreign languages are formulated in a number of documents of the Department of education and culture of the European Commission (The European Commission Director General for Education and Culture) and the document The Training of Teachers of a Foreign language: Developments in Europe. Also, the requirements of Kazakhstani Universities are taken into consideration.
